Gageleer No Alcohol is a pale yellow beer with a white head and fine bubbles of carbon dioxide.
Fruity and malty aromas in the nose with hints of bog myrtle for the finest noses and taste buds. Malt and softly sweet in the mouth, not very bitter. None of these are overpowering, but despite the absence of alcohol, a broad and balanced taste palette. Gageleer No Alcohol is a refreshingly tasty beer.
Beer sommelier Sofie Vanrafelghem was the first to taste Gageleer No Alcohol. She makes no secret of her appreciation. “The alcohol-free beer surprises with its expressive nose. Once its pearly white head with fine bubbles starts to disappear, the smell becomes even more intense. What you experience is a fresh fruity and spicy bouquet of aromas from the bog myrtle and the yeast. These are nicely complemented by grainy tones of the malt and further enhanced by a light sweetness of the malt. Thanks to the spicy personality of the beer, you hardly notice that it has a very light body, something that typifies alcohol-free beers. A nice taste and some character, on the other hand, are not always found in alcohol-free beers. Nevertheless, the Proefbrouwerij has perfectly succeeded in this with this Gageleer No Alcohol. The beer ends with a softly bitter and slightly spicy aftertaste.”
